BORN APRIL 30, 1971 ON WALL (ALICANTE) where he began his musical studies with BOMBARDINO AND PIANO IN THE MUSICAL UNION OF WALL, and its TEACHERS SALVADOR AND Mª ANGELES MARTINEZ PALACIOS
Later he continued his professional studies at the Conservatory of Alcoy and in the Conservatory of Valencia. Since 1988 studied Wind Band with the Dutch master Jan Cober, doing various courses in Eugene Corporon bandística direction (University of North Texas). In 1993 he was selected in the specialty of orchestral conducting in the “Wiener Musikseminar” Vienna, studying with Karl ÖSTERREICHER and Yuji YUHASA. In 1994 in Chicago to attend classes James CROFT address given in the “47th. Mid West Band and Orchestra Clinic.” In 1995 he obtained the Diploma in Conducting the “Wiener Meisterkurse für Musik” at the School of Music in Vienna with Hans GRAF teacher. It has extended knowledge in various courses to address teachers as José Collado, Gerardo Perez Busquier or Milanés Norman. In 2004 he makes a Master Class in Conducting with renowned teacher Georges Pehlivanian and Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra in Ljubljana.
He has worked as a conductor with soloists Jorgen van Rijen, Ben van Dijk, Spanish Brass, Ximo Vicedo, Luis Gonzalez, Pedro Valero, Yulia Nefiodova, Pablo Suárez, Josep Trescolí, Ashan Pillai, Luisa Pereira, Lito Fontana … So same in opera productions he has worked with singers like Ana Maria Sanchez, Amparo Navarro, Maria Ribera, Cristina Sanchez, Ruth Rosique, Andeka Gorrotxategui, Andrés del Pino, Alberto Arrabal, Javier Agulló, …
He has composed several works for band and instrumental ensemble, appearing some of his work in the Editorial Piles, Editorial Albadhoc Editions Rivera, Editorial Tot per l’Air, EGC and Editorial Editions Omnes Bands of Valencia. Regularly participates as jury of different composition contests Band (Altea, Bocairent, Benidorm, Callosa, Calpe, Elda, Pego, Dénia, Algemessí, Sant Vicent del Raspeig …). It has been designated International Jury National Band Contest Switzerland held in Montreux in 2001, the Competition Directorate of Pordenone (Italy, 2006), the Band Contest of Italian Switzerland in Lugano (2009) of Competition International Steering WMC Kerkrade (2010), the Competition Directorate of Tuscany (Italy, 2010), the National Band Contest Colombia in the city of Paipa, (2010), the International Competition “Flicorno d’Oro” Riva del Garda (Italy, 2014) and sworn of the Provincial Band contests Alicante (2001) and Castellon (2002) and Band Contest La Senia (2006). He has written commissioned works for groups like Spanish Brass Luur Metalls, 2i2 Quartet, Ximo Vicedo, Luis Gonzalez, Juan C. Matamoros, Francisco González Azorin. In 2006 he premiered his musical Balansiyyà letters of Carlos Veiga, acting in Valencia, Torrevieja, Madrid and Rabat (Morocco).
Since January 2015 he is artistic director of the Municipal Band of Bilbao. It also is director of the Orquestra de Vents Filharmonia main principal guest conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Murcia UCAM. He is the artistic director and professor of the courses of Musical Improvement of Istituto Musicale Spilimnbergo Guido Alberto Fano (Italy) since 2007. Since 1995 teaches at the Regional Music School of the Vall d’Albaida, from 1999 to 2004 at the Academy “Allegro” of Valencia and 2002-2007 in l’ECM the Comtat. He is a member of the SGAE, a founding member of the Association of Composers ACMMIC (Association of Composers of music of Moors and Christians), Member of WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) and COSICOVA (Valencian Symphonic Composers Association).
In 1991 he was awarded the “Baton of Maestro. William Thomas” in the National Band of Cuba in Havana. In 1997 he won the first “Golden Baton” of “8th. International Conductor’s Competition” Award WMC Kerkrade (Netherlands). In April 2000 he obtained the First Prize “Baton of Honour” of the “1st. European Conductors’ Competition” organized by the EBBA (European Brass Band Association) and held in the Symphony Hall of the English city of Birmingham, so he was appointed as “European Champion Driver 2000”. In October of that year is the only Spanish selected to direct opera in the “VI Giovanni Directore per Concorso d’Orchestra of the European Comunità” organized by the Franco Capuana Rome, the Accademia Chigiana in Siena Foundation and the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale Spoleto (Italy). In 2004 he received the Euterpe Award of the Federation of Music Societies of Valencia into two categories: Wind Band Composition and Music Festival. In 2010 he received the National Music Award “Ignacio Morales Nieva” Music Festival of Castilla “La Mancha”. In 2012 he received the Award for Best Musical Show of Castilla La Mancha with the Symphony Orchestra of Albacete.
